I believe I can say that we both find the Kony 2012 movement to be ridiculous. You’re not going to save Ugandans from the LRA by watching a video, clicking like, and sharing. That’s just not how it works. Also, before you go all gung-ho about a movement you should probably do more research than just a 30 minute youtube video. Maybe then you would know that only 32 percent of their funds, over 8 million dollars, last year went to helping the Ugandan people affected by Kony. The rest went towards paying the people in their group, travel expenses, and, shocker, their films. I know we’re probably making a few people butthurt, but you’re really not helping anyone. Most of the people whoring this video around will probably have forgotten about it within two weeks. Have you heard anyone talking about Haiti relief lately? Nope, because once it was out of the news, they didn’t care. Same with pretty much everything. This video has all the effect of a Sarah McLachlan ASPCA commercial. You feel bad for a few minutes, and then you don’t care anymore.
